DI addiction...is there any hope???

great week shopping at DI. bought a wool coat with a fur collar for only $10!!! the buttons on the coat were plastic and pink. hated them so i went to joannes and bought three new ones and a spool of thread. yeah $16 later (that includes 10% off coupon!) i left feeling i had just been taken advantage of. a button costs $5??? what the hey! well i got the new ones sewed on and sewed part of the collar that had come undone. my visiting teachers came over and when i showed this coat to them one lady said she thought the fur was possum. evidently her mom had bought her this exact same coat in 1977 when the woman had left to go to school at byu and it had cost $175 back then.

original buttons

new buttons

the picture i bought for $45. the frame had a few dings in it so when i got home i took a black permanent marker and colored in the dings and then rubbed it with my finger and presto! it looked perfect. the picture is an original work of art. the painting is on canvas and the frame itself is HEAVY. i was told the fame itself is worth about $600. maybe. i just bought it because my DI friend, an older lady named sharon that i always meet in DI, told me to. im really glad i did because once it was hung up it really makes the living room. it goes so well with dads $3000 carpet.
